Fair Play & Anti-Cheat Policy

Our Commitment

Fair play is the foundation of EspoVersus. As a skill-based competitive eSports tournament platform, our entire value to players rests on a level playing field where every Tournament and Match is decided by genuine skill, strategy, and performance, never by cheating or manipulation. This Fair Play & Anti-Cheat Policy explains the behaviour we prohibit, how we detect violations, the penalties we apply, and how you can report cheating. This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to every User. By participating in any Tournament or Match, you agree to compete honestly and to follow this Policy and the published rules of each contest.

Prohibited Behaviour

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Cheats, hacks, and exploits: aimbots, wallhacks, recoil scripts, speed hacks, memory editors, or exploiting bugs to gain an unfair advantage.
  • Bots, mods, and unauthorised software: automation tools, modified game clients, or any third-party software that alters gameplay or confers an advantage. Emulators are not permitted where the Tournament requires play on a physical mobile device.
  • Multi-accounting: creating or operating more than one Account, or playing through another person's Account.
  • Collusion and match-fixing: any arrangement between players to manipulate results, share lobbies unfairly, or predetermine outcomes.
  • False information: providing fake identity or KYC details, impersonating others, or falsifying results, screenshots, or evidence.
  • Account trading: buying, selling, sharing, renting, or transferring Accounts.
  • Abuse and disruption: harassment, threats, or deliberate disruption of Matches or other players.

Detection & Monitoring

To protect competitive integrity, we use a combination of automated and manual measures, which may include:

  • Device-integrity and device-fingerprint checks to detect tampering, emulators where prohibited, and multi-accounting.
  • Statistical and behavioural analysis of results, win patterns, and gameplay signals to flag anomalies.
  • Review of submitted evidence such as in-game screenshots and result reports.
  • Cross-checking of Account, payment, and device signals to identify linked or duplicate Accounts.
  • Investigation of reports submitted by other players.

We continually update our detection methods to keep pace with new forms of cheating. Attempting to bypass, disable, reverse-engineer, or interfere with these measures is itself a serious violation of this Policy. We may temporarily hold result settlement, prize credits, or Withdrawals while integrity checks are completed.

Penalties

We apply penalties proportionate to the seriousness and history of the violation. Depending on the circumstances, penalties may escalate as follows:

  1. Warning for minor or first-time issues.
  2. Temporary ban or suspension of Account access and paid features.
  3. Permanent ban for serious or repeated violations.
  4. Forfeiture of Winnings and balances obtained through prohibited conduct, and reversal of affected results.

Serious violations such as the use of cheats, collusion, match-fixing, or fraudulent KYC may result in immediate permanent banning and forfeiture without prior warning. We may also withhold pending Withdrawals linked to prohibited conduct and report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities. Penalties are applied in line with the principles of proportionality, considering the nature of the violation, the harm caused, any unfair advantage gained, and the User's history.

Investigation & Appeal

Where we identify a possible violation, we may pause result settlement and Withdrawals while we investigate. We aim to review fairly and on the available evidence. If your Account is penalised and you believe the decision is incorrect, you may submit an appeal through the in-app support section or by writing to the Grievance Officer, EspoVersus at grievance@espoversus.com. We will acknowledge appeals within 24 hours and endeavour to resolve them within 15 days.

How to Report

If you suspect cheating or unfair play, please report it promptly through the in-app reporting and ticket system, or email support@espoversus.com with the Tournament or Match details, the username involved, and any evidence such as screenshots or recordings. The sooner you report, the easier it is for us to investigate while evidence is fresh. Reports are reviewed confidentially, and we do not disclose the identity of a reporter to the player being reported. Filing knowingly false reports to harm another player, or coordinating mass false reports, is itself a violation of this Policy and may lead to penalties against the reporter.

A Shared Responsibility

Fair play protects everyone. When you compete honestly and report genuine concerns, you help keep EspoVersus a level playing field where skill is rewarded. We will continue to invest in fair-play technology and transparent enforcement, and we ask every player to do their part by following the rules and respecting fellow competitors.
